The lecture only briefly covers the pathophysiology of anaphylaxis but focuses on how to rapidly gain supportive evidence for the diagnosis of single insult (envenomation, vaccine/drug injection, degranulation of mast cell tumor) canine anaphylaxis. Sonographic detection of gallbladder wall edema has been published as having high sensitivity and specificity for anaphylaxis but has other causes. Integrating information using Global FAST® – combining AFAST®, TFAST® and Vet BLUE® – is imperative for an accurate assessment.
This webinar has been approved for 1 hour (medical) of continuing education credit in jurisdictions that recognize RACE approval. Additionally, Vetcetera is approved as a sponsor of continuing education for veterinarians and veterinary technicians in the state of New York.
