Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a relatively common cause of cardiopulmonary symptoms in older dogs, but it often proves difficult to diagnose and medically manage. This program will aim to clarify the details of this clinical enigma. Pulmonary hypertension will be defined, and the classifications and causes of the disease as outlined by the 2020 ACVIM Consensus Statement will be thoroughly discussed. The echocardiographic findings of PH will be highlighted in addition to other diagnostic tools to utilize when echocardiography is not available. Finally, treatment of each PH classification, long-term monitoring and prognosis will complete the program.
